Walks Around Looe

Looe Polperro costal walk

The walk passes an early Christian holy site and the ruins of a medieval chapel built on it. The chapel was built after a number of pilgrims drowned trying to reach its predecessor on Looe Island. This part of Cornwall had lively trading links with the Mediterranean even in prehistoric times, and it is said that Jesus visited Looe, accompanying his uncle, Phoenician tin trader Joseph of Arimathea.

Looe to Talland Bay

An invigorating walk along the South West Coast Path to the traditional fishing town of Looe with its harbour, its beaches and its banjo pier. Allow plenty of time for sightseeing before returning, either the same way, or via inland paths and a quiet country road.

Kilminorth Woods and the Giant's Hedge

he walk begins by following the riverside path from Looe to Watergate. The walk then turns up the valley to climb to the ridgeway track entering the woods. The walk then follows the Giant's Hedge nearly all the way through the woods, before a final zig-zag through another area of woods to return the the riverside.
